A ranch has livestock, right?
Nope, all of our animals are pets.
So, the main buildings are close to the house.
Or, more accurately, in what used to be our back yard!

Originally, our back yard contained a storage building with an
added roof to create a "carport" style shelter area.
We enclosed the "carport" area to create a
Hen House
and fenced in an area for a run on the back side.
The top of the run is covered with fencing to protect the ladies
from the Red Tailed Hawks that live on the hill behind the house.
The storage building was remodled to include inner walls and an
opening on the side to become the
Goat Cabin.
A new storage building was added to become the
Pet Pampering Parlor.
It started out to be a (warm) place to feed and milk, but its role
has expanded to include grooming, medicating, and just plain old
one on one bonding time with our pets.
In interior of the Parlor you can see the heater, stanchion, and
a can for grain storage under the work bench.
After Thanksgiving in 2011, I had to go in to the office in
San Jose, California for a week
(Yes, I still have a "day job").
While I was gone, the Mrs. decided that she couldn't wait for a
real walkway instead of a mud path.
So, she grabbed a shovel and below you can see the results!
She is awsome!
